Friends?

Absolutely never thought I'd live to see this. Gidget will not usually let my dog up on the sofa if she is up there. They stayed like this for quite a while. Until my husband got up. I'm hopeful that Gidget is getting more comfortable with my dog or that her grumpiness with him was pregnancy and maternal related. I haven't seen any stiffness in her today and it was pretty cool this morning.

Gael will be leaving us tomorrow. I don't think that Gidget or the other puppies have even noticed that Haymitch is gone. I can detect no change in their behavior. We'll see how it goes after Gael leaves.

Gidget woke me up at 2 am. I figured one of the puppies had pooped. That seems to be the only thing that causes her to want to go in the pen anymore (well, that and if they leave any food after their meals:-). I must not have latched the puppy pen gate securely last night because I was met by a thundering hoard of puppies along with Gidget. They went back into the pen with no problem but it looks as though we had been invaded. Sure seemed like more than 4 puppies. I could find no signs of anyone having had an accident. My guess is that they didn't make their escape until Gidget sounded the alarm.

After our morning potty break in the yard, I decided to fill the tug-a-jug with kibble and see what they would do with it. I had it hanging over the whelping box for stimulation and didn't take it down after I took the box out of there. Here's a video of their 1st experience with a food puzzle toy. They're still at it 10 minutes later. Amazing.
