Gidget's babies just keep growing. Everyone's eyes are now open (well, Prim still has 1 that is stuck at about 75% open) and they are getting much more mobile but still sleeping a lot. They are looking so much different. And you can start telling them apart by their faces, not just their markings. It'll be interesting to see how much they look like Godget and how much they look like their unknown father. He was supposed to be a wire haired Fox Terrier. She is supposed to be a smooth coated Fox Terrier. I wonder if any of them will have the wire coat.
I cut their nails again this morning. Most were really good but I did it right after they finished nursing so they were probably drowsy. Gael was really squirmy, though. I'll do our last ENS today.
Since their eyes are open and they are starting to move around, the next thing to do is set up some toys and things for visual stimulation. I'll put something (maybe a pvc pipe) across the ex pen and hang some bright toys and things from it. I'm keeping the TV on so that they are hearing stuff as their ears open. I got a sound desensitization CD to play when they are older but for now, the TV will work, I think. I'm also picking them up several times a day just to pet and snuggle and talk to them. So far, no one but me has handled them. Since she is so familiar with my husband, I'm thinking of seeing if she'll let him handle them soon.
