I stayed with her and the puppies during the night and called my vet first thing this morning. He had just had surgery recently but came in to see her. She does have an infection (I had decided it was blisters. Wishful thinking on my part). He put her on a different antibiotic and pain medication. This antibiotic does go through the mik so hopefully it will treat any bacteria that the puppies picked up when nursing.
Gidget was feeling a bit better this morning and the puppies seemed strong. Late morning and early afternoon the puppies got a bit lethargic and I got scared but by early afternoon, they were back on top and raring to go. Witness Gael below learning to walk. He was the smallest boy at birth and he's now bigger than Haymitch but he can run circles around all the others. He was fast when he was crawling but he is determined to learn to walk. Have a look below. Not to be outshone, Peeta, aka Jabba the Hutt - he is a bit chubby, opened his eyes - well, one eye) this evening. They are growing up so fast. Lots of developments right now.
